CoMInDS Program Profile: University of Maine

Profile of the GTA development program at the University of Maine

Detailed Description

Each Program Profile describes one of several well-established models for professional development of graduate teaching assistants (GTAs).  As a set, these Profiles are intended to help designers and instructors of TAPD programs think about the big picture of their program, recognize affordances and limitations of different TAPD models, and identify resources, opportunities and challenges as they design a program to fit their own institutional setting.

At Maine, the model includes summer and academic year components, some serving all STEM GTAs and some serving mathematics in particular.  It is built for the context of a masters-granting university where new GTAs will teach early in their graduate careers.
