CoMInDS Landing Page

The goal of CoMInDS (College Mathematics Instructor Development Source) is to create an infrastructure, housed and supported by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), to enhance the mathematics community’s ability to provide high quality, teaching-related professional development (PD) to graduate students. CoMInDS was developed with support from the National Science Foundation (DUE Award 1432381). From this page, you can access a rich collection of resources for the PD of college mathematics instructors, connect to the community of providers of PD, and those who do research on college mathematics instruction. Registered users can browse, download, upload or comment on resources. Once users find a resource they are interested in they are free to download and edit it for use in their professional development work. Once you have registered for the site (see link on the top right), click on any of the links below to get started.

Users will find a repository of resources to support the professional development of CMIs. These include but are not limited to instructional materials such as sample syllabi, classroom activities, and lesson plans for a course on CMI professional development. In addition, you will be able to upload your own professional development materials and comment on existing resources.

Similar in structure to the Resource Suite, the Researcher Corner content will consist of scholarly articles that pertain to the professional development of CMIs.

A key component of the community will be mentoring teams comprising experienced and novice providers. In addition to these structured teams, members of the community will be able to post comments on a discussion board.

Providers, scholars, and CMIs will have opportunities for professional development via participation in webinars and other events. For example, we will offer webinars involving scholars and experienced providers, webinars for new providers, and webinars for CMIs.
