Profile of the GTA development programs at Bowling Green State University and the University of South Carolina
Each Program Profile describes one of several well-established models for professional development of graduate teaching assistants (GTAs). As a set, these Profiles are intended to help designers and instructors of TAPD programs think about the big picture of their program, recognize affordances and limitations of different TAPD models, and identify resources, opportunities and challenges as they design a program to fit their own institutional setting.
At BGSU and USC, the model is a peer mentoring model that prepares experienced GTAs to support novice GTAs as they begin teaching.
